Parga's 16th century castle is one of the most popular locations for a wedding. It is set on a hill overlooking Parga from one side and Valtos Bay from the other.
If your dream is a beach wedding, Parga offers beaches to make it true, such as Lichnos beach and Sarakino beach. You can always start your wedding by hiring a luxury villa and have your big day by the swimming pool.
If you like something more traditional, Parga has a fantastic church on a small island that you can only go by boat, opposite the town's beach.
Parga is a coastal town located in the northwestern part of Preveza. Nowadays, Parga is the busiest tourist resort in the area. Nearby you can find the beaches of Kryoneri, Piso Kryoneri (within the village of Parga), Valtos and Sarakiniko on the west, Lichnos and Ai Giannakis on the east. Opposite the town there is the picturesque island of Virgin Mary, where you can find a beautiful church and medieval Venetian and French buildings.
Parga is the most popular tourist destination in Epirus. It is built on the outskirts of a Venetian castle and is clearly influenced by the Ionian architecture. Within the municipality of Parga there are several different beaches and bays. In older times they were used as ports or anchorages for shipping and helped make Parga the commercial resort it was. Specifically in the city of Parga there is Krioneri beach, facing the Islet of Virgin Mary. In the center, opposite the beach, stands a small high rocky island that the locals call it Skorda. Adjacent to the east lies the Piso Krioneri beach, and also a small beach in Parga village surrounded by high cliffs. To the west of Parga lies Valtos, probably the most famous beach of area.
A large and well organized tourist beach, called Tourkopazaro, overlooks the rear of the castle and the houses of Parga. In the East, 3 km outside the city, there is Lichnos beach, which has two small sea caves. The beach is sandy, but has spots with gravel, and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of Parga. About 6 km east of Parga, after the wetland of Kalodiki, there is Ai Giannakis beach. Finally, six kilometers west of Parga, near the village of Agia, there is the Sarakiniko beach. All these beaches are accessible by car. There are also a number of beaches that are accessed only by boat, such as Agios Sostis, Spartila, Pogonia etc.
